Charlotte De Cock introduces ‘The Thirteen Masters’: a story about thirteen male artists who are the voice of a generation, through arts, music, acting, writing and photography.
Like any grand master they create, because they need to, for themselves. But at the same time they are the audience’s possession. Unrestrained souls, chained to the expectations of their spectators. Despite the achievements, vulnerability lurks around the corner.
This is why Charlotte portrays these men in an unexpected way. She paints them as they are. In a setting where they come to relax, escape, where they come to vent.
Although these thirteen are internationally successful, they nourish the next generation of artists, from their home base: Antwerp.
